I've been playing around with some Hama beads making patterns inspired by the geometric animals woven into one of my dad's carpets. He is a keen carpet collector and got this one from Turkey about 9 years ago.

What I'd do with these is make a collection of rod or shadow puppets and have numerous animals popping out of a jungle/nighttime environment. The eyes glow under blacklight. Not sure how far this will develop, but I love the aesthetic of the animals on the carpet and I'm having fun trying to interpret them.
